Turning Seventeen (free choice)

One more year... One more year before I am fudged. The time is almost coming where I'm going to have to start paying my own bills and finding my own way around this world, with a little help from my parents. It's something everyone looks forward to, but I happen to not want it to come so quickly and enjoy my last year of being a teenager.

Turning eighteen comes with a lot of responsibility but also comes with a lot of freedom. This is the age where if you happen to do something lawfully wrong it will forever stay on your record and it will be with you everywhere you go. I remember when I was younger oh how I couldn't wait to grow up and be eighteen and move out and live happily ever after. Though when I turned 13 life struck me at the door and I knew it wasn't going to be easy turing eighteen. I knew that  once I turned eighteen all my irresponsible actions would be a danger to me. I don't only tend to look at it the negative way but also at all the good benefits that come from it. Being eighteen gives me the chance to learn how to be completely independent before i end my teen ages. I will already be out of high school, which means that I will already be working at a medium wage job to pay for all my needed expenses. Perhaps it may not be a medium wage job depending on how well I finish off high school and what type of job i apply for. Deep down I know I'll get through this as smoothly as possible because I know I have people on my side who wouldn't mind helping me through some of the rough patches I encounter.

This is the time of my life where my real life begins. I always try my best to look at the positives of turning eighteen since there is no running away from it. Only if we could slow down time or make it go backwards to where I could've done way more things that i had wanted to in my teenage years. I sometimes wish I could be like Peter Pan and move to Neverland so that I could never grow up and stay young forever, but I know I can't. This is going to be one hell of a ride..

MOLLY & STACHE ♥ free choice

The most cutest kitten in the world to me is this little kitten to the left. That is Molly Darling as a baby cat, from that moment till now she has grown so much. She has grown into a cat with such an amazing personality. She shows me love and compassion through out the day and throughout night just waiting for me to come home from school.

Everyday coming home from school I find her standing right in front of the door as i open it. As though she senses me coming in, it's honestly the best thing ever. She has a twin brother whose name happens to be Stache, though I like to call him baby Stache. Stache is my brothers cat which happen to be extremely adorable. Only difference about Stache and Molly is that he has a cute little mustache. They both bring so much joy into my life, every moment and every minute they spend time with me. They have such powerful effects towards people, before I had finally had the chance to own a cat my parents most dreaded to have one in the house. Now they love both kitties as if they were with us for years.

Everyone who has encountered my cats in a matter of seconds tell me what cute cats they are. Their personalities are so unique but yet so different. Molly is a cute lady mannered cat which is extremely adventurous and super cuddly. On the other hand while Stache is sometimes adventurous with all the crazy stunts he's pulled. He is more of the calm, lazy, chubby cuddly kitty. They both make the best pets ever and I love them both equally. Having my own pet has made a big difference in my life.

My Favorite Hobby

The moment i had began to walk on my two feet ,  I challenged myself to a lot of experiments. Doing that will then let me know what my favorite hobby is.  Though i really don't have favorite anythings, if i had to choose one by force. I would say drawing and scrap booking are my thing. I almost forgot to add that I'm always listening to music while doing my hobbies. Music is my life, one of the best hobbies I had ever had.

At the age of 3 I had the most fun painting pictures that i would make for anyone that was in my household.  Even though they weren't that great, I tried my best. Art has always had and still has an impact on me. Perhaps maybe art is my calling, maybe that's a hobby I could take it to the next level. I have this very unique scrapbook that i am working on right now. I plan to finish every single page with no white gaps left over it. I'm keeping it until the days i turn old, and one day i will hand it down to my children so they can remember what their mother was about.

I believe scrap booking is my favorite hobby because of the fact that i can do whatever I want to my own book. It is the best way that I can relieve any negative thoughts and or just let out anything that's affecting me on that day,  either good or bad. I believe I would start crying if I were to look at this scrapbook of mine forty years from now. There is so much that has changed since the first day i decided to being my scrap booking.

About Me

                                                         JOANNA ISABEL MIJES
I go by the name Joanna Isabel Mijes, I am the last daughter out of four children. I have moved to Costa Mesa about 3 to 4 years ago and began the eighth grade here. It sucked really. Though now that i've become more familiar with my surroundings I had decided to come to Back Bay High School. I plan on graduating from this school once I catch up and complete all my credits missed from the past years. There's a lot i can say about me, though i'll just say the main things. I come from a Mexican family of six, I live with both my mother and father as well as two of my siblings Alejandra and Christian. I am a 16 year old junior attending Back Bay High School who is trying her best to move on and succeed in life.

Besides all of that I am a very open-minded person, I have been ever since I was younger. My mother brought me up to be very respectful and kind to anyone and everyone. I tend to be very caring and lovable, though I can be the exact opposite if you push my buttons. I would say I have the personality of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. She's my favorite princess ha-ha. Any who I'm going to finish this off by saying I love listening to music, all different types of genres. If I had to choose one thing to entertain myself, I would entertain myself with music.

#29 My Career Second Trimester

COSMETOLOGY

Everyone needs a little beauty in their day to be able to walk around with good self-esteem, knowing they are beautiful. I am currently a Junior at Back Bay high school, trying my best to graduate and get my diploma. Its a goal i am trying to accomplish in order to start my official adult life. I have a lot of experience cutting peoples hair and painting nails as well as applying on make-up. Ever since i was a youngster I have always wanted to study and go into cosmetology. My mother had gone to school to study cosmetology, but did not go through with it so now it is my turn to complete what she didn't finish.
In order to get into the career of my choice I must graduate high school and go directly into beauty school full time to be able to get my degree in a year. Following that i will attend college and consider taking business classes to know how to start my own business. After four years of attending college i will then get my masters degree to be able to own my own business. After i have my own business then i will be able to enjoy my job and perhaps look into another job i might want besides cosmetology.  I plan to take a child development class in college. For example i will use my other college classes that i plan to take and become a kindergarden teacher.

#28 Bucket List Second Trimester

1. Sky Diving

I have always wanted to know how it feels to fall from the sky and to be able to know that I would land safely and unharmed.

2. Travel the World with my Soulmate

Seeing new places of the world has always been so eye catching and interesting to me. I would want to learn more about other countries and the way they work, and what would be better than to go with my soulmate. <3

3. Own a Horse
Since i was a little girl horses always seemed so amaze me, the way they run through the fields so beautifully and gracefully. I will own a nice house with a big back yard, and that's where she/he will stay.

4. Own a Boat

I have always wanted to own a nice big boat to take out to the ocean and fish or just relax with my family. I have always really loved the ocean from the color of the sea to the windy breezes.

5. Get to see my Grandchildren have their children
Since my grandma got to see her great grandchildren; It is my goal to be able to see my own great grand children.

#27 Stranded Part 2 Second Trimester

$205 Dollars To Spend for Survival.

Coleman® Flatwoods 4 Person Tent $50.00

The reason why i would buy a tent is so that I can have shelter to sleep under, in case of rain or snow. I need to be sheltered by something or else i would probably freeze to death and not even make it three months. Having a tent would also protect me from any type of dangerous bugs or wild animals. Shelter is always needed, in order to try to survive.
MTech Rescue Team 10.25" Fixed Blade Survival Knife $9.39
A knife will always be something reliable in case of times of danger. I would take a knife with me so I could cut fish or any type of plants up and make a decent plate of food. The blade would also help me cut down anything that I would need in order to survive and or to protect myself from harms way. Knifes are a MUST!
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter $20.00
This lifeStraw is very useful wherever i decide to go. No matter what, people will always need to have clean drinking water in order to survive. It is scientifically proven that going more than three days without water will put you on your death bed. Clean water would be a perfect way to try to survive my Isolation.
I am taking sweet corn with me because it's nutritious and it will give me my needed nutrients for me to be able to live healthy for those six months. I would be able to cook it in a little pot or something aluminum bowl shaped with found food, or just eat it as it is. Either way would be fine by me. I had also bought vegetable seeds, so if i run out of these cans i will still have more.
Green Giant Young Tender Sweet Peas, 15 oz, 4ct $3.28 X6

The same reason why i would take sweet corn is the same reason why i am taking sweet peas. They are very delicious and healthy for me especially because they are green vegetables. They would be able to give my body the energy that is needed to run through the day without feeling weak. Vegetables in general are very important to add to your meals, and will be needed more if stranded on an island.
Sea Fishing Medium Light (ML) Carbon Spinning Rod $16.39
I want to take a fishing rod so I can have a way to catch fish from inside the ocean in order for me to eat. Instead of trying to catch fish by hand, it would be much more easier to just catch it with a fishing rod. Perhaps even catch more than you can by hand. Fish will most likely be the main food on my food chart everyday.

I am also taking this wire cup spinning reel so my fishing rod can have something to reel in. Since my fishing rod did not come with a wire cup, I had to buy it separately. Not only would it be useful to catch fish but also perhaps to tie things up that are needed to be tied up. For example the fish that i had caught, I don't want to just leave it lying around on the floor. I will tie them all together and hang them on a tree branch or somewhere where they wont get contaminated by something unhealthy.
Vigilant Trails Pocket / Survival Fishing Kit $11.95
This fishing kit I am taking as an extra just incase i run out of anything needed to fish. This kit also kinda has it's own type of fishing way. You just throw the wire into the water with the little fishes and that would be another way to catch my food. Since fish will most likely be my only food source i need to make sure i have plenty of supplies for me to survive six months on an island.
Survival Seed Vault - Heirloom Emergency Survival Seeds - $29.95
Seeds are a very important thing to take with me in order for me to have fresh vegetables to eat, to keep myself healthy and running. Since there will be water there with me i would plant them in the soil and give them water to survive. Planting vegetables will take me a long way.
Fur Trim 50" x 60" Throw $9.97
This fur trim blanket that I am taking with me will always keep me warm at night when i am going to sleep or on cold days when i just want to stay inside my tent. I don't want to be freezing my ass off for six months without at least something to try to keep me warm at night. This blanket would make me the happiest loneliest isolated person ever!
Candy from 99c store $5.00
I am taking candy so that i can have something to energize me throughout the days. Everyone needs sugar in there body in order to function correctly. Also i just really like candy and I had the extra money so it was a win, win. Candy also fills me up really fast so it would be a good idea to take some with me.

#26 Stranded Second Trimester

My Kitten Molly Darling would have to be one of the main things i would want to have with me if i were to ever be stranded on a remote deserted Island. Molly is a black cat with white paws and a white splotch on her chest. She is so energetic and always has a way to put a smile on my face, even when i’m at my lowest. She would also be helpful to me in finding a way to get food. She’d most likely become a wild cat instead of a house cat.

A lighter with refillable fluid would be the second thing i would want to have with me. I choose a lighter in order to make a fire to keep myself warm through cold nights. Not only to make a fire to keep myself warm but also to prepare food for me and Molly to eat. Perhaps cook up some fish I caught in the water off the Island. Fire is always useful in case of stranded situations, it also gives me the benefit of having light since there is no electricity.

A survival kit including some weapons, handy tools, tents, and sleeping bags would be very useful in a situation like this. All these tools will give me a decent shelter to come home to after my everyday hunts for food. The weapons acquired will help me catch my food with ease then if I did not have them. The flashlight which will help me through my nights, just in case i need to go out in the dark since there would be no electricity. Water is the big importance in this survival kit, without water I would die! This kit is very useful if i were to be stranded on an island.

About Me Second Trimester

My name is Joanna Isabel Mijes and i am sixteen years old. I am currently a junior attending Back Bay High School, leaving Estancia High School. I am the youngest out of four children. I live at home with both parents including my older brother and my second oldest sister. My kittens also live with me; Molly which is my cat and Stache, my brothers cat. I am also a proud aunt of two beautiful baby boys. I have lots of goals in life, but my main one right now is graduating high school with a decent GPA.

I am a very open-minded person, with lots of potential in doing great things if i set my mind to it. I enjoy using my brain to learn new things in order to expand my knowledge. Art and music are two things that have always really caught my attention. I believe i’m a very artistic person, that is why i have thoughts on having cosmetology as a career once i graduate high school. My mind is always swarming with different kinds of ideas. My mind might even change in a couple years about these choices.
